Jim Campolo, Director Of Maintenance and Operations/Facilities
The overall goal of the Maintenance Department is to maintain and improve our facilities and equipment so as to provide a safe, comfortable, and pleasant learning environment for students and staff. We believe there is an indisputable correlation between the success of students and the quality and cleanliness of the school.
The Maintenance Department is responsible for the upkeep of all school and district facilities. The OCESD maintenance department consists of two and one-half maintenance technician positions, one and one-half grounds positions, and a warehouse person.
The department is responsible for maintaining nine schools sites and the district office. The department hours are 7-3:30. Monday-Friday
Oroville City Elementary School District utilizes Green Cleaning products and processes.
We adopted these products and procedures because they help our students and staff stay healthy, they preserve the environment, and are better for our buildings and our budget.
In short Green Cleaning uses products and processes that are safer for human health and the environment.
Oroville City Elementary School District makes every effort to use environmentally preferable cleaning products. We use “Green Seal” certified products where ever possible and supplement them with “Bio-based products”. The district uses sustainable paper products in our restrooms.
Green Seal is an independent, non-profit organization that creates green standards for a variety of products and provides product certification.
Bio-based products are cleaning products that utilize renewable domestic agricultural or forestry materials.
Sustainable paper products use a self-replenishing supply of raw materials. The wood product for our paper is farmed. No virgin forest is used in the making of these products..
The cleaning products the district uses are either "Green Seal" Certified or Bio-Renewable products.
Our paper towels and toilet paper products are sustainable products. The raw materials used are grown and harvested on farms. No virgin forest material is used.
