Hello Wyandotte Academy families! There has been a change of location for Thursday night’s Parade. We found out this morning that the Riverbend Park will be closed for the next two days due to an application of herbicide for the removal of clover. Due to the closure, we will be moving the parade to Mesa Avenue, which is the street that goes right through Central Middle School’s parking lot. Here is a picture of the new route. Sorry for the change!

Today is the big day...Recology’s Community Service Day! Recology employees and families have come to do some projects to support our students, families, staff and the local community. There are three main projects that are being worked on today. A new holistic playground in our kindergarten area, weed covering and rubber bark put in our planters by the library, and cleanup and new planter beds installed in our Community Garden. I can’t thank the employees and leadership of Recology enough for supporting Wyandotte Academy! Special thanks goes to Amy Jernigan, Scott Pardini, and Frank Tamayo for spearheading the event, as well as Mike Sangiacomo, President and CEO of Recology, Dan Shea, General Manager of Recology Butte and Colusa Counties, Oroville Mayor Chuck Reynolds and OCESD Superintendent Dr. Spencer Holtom. Welcome back! It’s almost time to start the 2018-2019 school year! We are very excited to teach your children this year. I hope you have all had a great summer and are excited about the start of school. I am so proud of the staff at Wyandotte Academy. They are working hard, preparing their classes for your students to come back to school on Wednesday, August 15. As most of you know, Wyandotte Academy encourages a look of being college and career ready. A plain NAVY BLUE shirt can be purchased at Wal Mart or any store of your choice. If you prefer to have a collared shirt with a logo, you may purchase one here at school. Please talk with Mrs. Corkin in the office about buying yours. For the coming year, we encourage and expect kindergarten through third grades to wear their blue shirts every day. For fourth and fifth grades, we encourage and welcome you to wear yours too! Communication is vital in helping us educate and keep your child safe. Please make sure you completely fill out the information packets that will be sent home at the beginning of the school year. It is especially important for you to notify us of any change in your phone numbers and address. Please feel free to call the office when changes occur. We look forward to seeing you soon!
