This is Superintendent Spencer Holtom with a message for all Oroville City Elementary Classified staff.
As we move into Phase 2 of the Coronavirus stay at home instructions, the strict restrictions for essential-only staff working has been eased.
Starting this Monday, May 18th, all classified staff are to report in to work at their normal worksite at their normally scheduled time unless you are already working a different assignment or are in contact with your supervisor about a modified assignment.
From Monday on, classified staff will be working their normal scheduled number of hours per week for the weeks they are normally assigned. Certificated staff will continue to provide distance learning for the remainder of the school year in the model we are currently using.
Working with your supervisor on Monday, you will be given your assignments, discuss any changes to your weekly schedule, and discuss any modification or accommodations needed.
Please know that employee safety is our number one priority, so please understand assignments will honor social distancing when possible and PPE will be provided when social distancing is not possible.
We also encourage all staff to wear a comfortable face covering when at work to help stop or slow the spread of Coronavirus.
If you have conflicts or health concerns related to the Coronavirus, please reach out to your supervisor as soon as possible via phone or email to discuss your options.
Thank you and have a good weekend.

This is a special message for OCESD staff. Please listen to the whole message.
Due to increased concern about the Coronavirus and Governor Newsom's latest directives about isolating people over 65 years old and those with chronic disease, we are closing all Oroville City Elementary School District schools starting tomorrow, Monday, March 16, 2020. We are currently planning to reopen schools on Monday, March 30, 2020, but this could be extended.
If you or a household member is 65 or older or suffering from a chronic disease, you do not need to come to work on either of the following staff days. If you are in this situation, please contact Tina Pickering at email@example.com and Shannon Ensminger at firstname.lastname@example.org
Monday, March 16, 2020, food services, health, custodial, site office staff including principals, office clerks and office managers, district office staff, warehouse, and maintenance staff need to come to work to prepare the schools for closure. Staff who were scheduled to attend the 3:15 planning meeting will need to come to the meeting. All other staff have this day off.
Wednesday, March 18, 2020. All staff need to plan on coming to work on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 for planning. We will have Governor Newsom's new directives for how we are expected to support students during the school closures.
Remember, you are not expected to report to work if you or someone in your household is 65 or older or suffering a chronic disease.
Please be safe and follow CDC guidelines as we work together to battle Coronavirus.
