All Oroville City Elementary schools are now monitored around the clock by surveillance cameras. These cameras are primarily on our campuses to help ensure student safety, staff safety and to help reduce vandalism and theft.

The surveillance cameras are used in public areas where there is no expectation of privacy. These areas include building entrances, hallways, parking lots, playgrounds, gymnasiums, cafeterias, Esports rooms and front offices. Not every public area is covered or covered completely, but most public areas are covered.

The surveillance camera project was planned and funded through Oroville City Elementary's Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and we have already begun seeing the impact.
